Our vision is to create a world where the thrill of sailing and the confidence it inspires are open to everyone, regardless of disability or circumstance. To do this we plan to build and operate a fully accessible sailing catamaran that enables people with disabilities to enjoy residential sailing trips, learn new skills, and achieve recognised sailing qualifications in a safe, inclusive environment.
The catamaran is a Dazcat 1500 catamaran. She is a state-of-the-art vessel designed to combine luxury, efficiency, and exceptional sailing performance. Built with advanced materials and innovative engineering, this catamaran offers stability and speed, making it ideal for long voyages or leisurely coastal trips. Its spacious interior features modern furnishings, a fully equipped galley, and comfortable sleeping quarters, providing the perfect balance of style and functionality. The expansive deck space allows for seamless movement and relaxation, while the cleverly designed cockpit ensures easy handling, even for smaller crews.
Everything about the boat is also ideal for people in wheelchairs and with other accessibility requirements. It will have three wheelchair to enable access to all areas of the boat. Other special features will include completely accessible wet rooms, hoists and everything else to enable anyone to sail the boat whatever their situation.
The Voyager Trust will redefine what is possible in accessible sailing — creating opportunities for adventure, independence, and learning at sea. By combining expert design, professional instruction, and an inclusive ethos, the Trust will ensure that the experience of sailing is open to all.
